Dream interpretation can seem like magic and witchcraft, the first time you experience it. How can someone have such an insight into your dreams, such an awareness of your life, despite the fact that you may well have never met them before? How is it that so many strangers can be experiencing the same dreams as you are?

Actually, it isn’t magic or witchcraft; most dream interpretation is based on logic. For example, if you are dreaming of your home, this relates to your own personal feelings. If you dream of being chased, you may be feeling overwhelmed in your waking life. To dream of friends may mean that you are either happy and secure, or feeling left out, scared and alone.

There are a lot of strange, niche type dreams that you may be experiencing that are unique to your situation; in this case you have to be aware that your dreams are your own, and you have to move out to see the wider variations and delve a little deeper.

Dreams can also considered to be messages from the spirit realm; urgent guidelines from your subconscious to improve your life; a way of analyzing your psychological state; or in some cases, a feeling of fear and trepidation (this is especially true if you have uncomfortable or unpleasant dreams).

Interpreting dreams can be a great way to realize things your subconscious may be trying to tell you, and ways to improve your life. Who doesn’t love ways to improve one’s life, right?

But don’t take it too much to heart. A dream is a dream, and although following the guidelines they may offer you can help to improve your life, you don’t need to live your life by every night-time picture showing you experience.

If nothing else, interpreting your dreams is a fun and interesting way to delve further into parts of your brain that you might not be aware of. Dreams are not necessarily portents of things that are about to happen to you – but if they can help you to improve your life then this has got to be a good thing.

When reading about the meanings of your dreams, don’t take it too much to heart. If you read something that resonates with you and makes sense in your life, and you can see a clear path to sorting out the reasons why you are having the dream and positive steps to take, then go for it and take action to improve your life. If, however, you have a crazy dream about battling a giant hamster for your grandma’s hair rollers, then maybe you can let this one lie.
